25 Installing Divi Theme Builder

All right, welcome back. So in this video, we’re going to be installing Divi. Now, for those of you that haven’t bought Divi yet I have a link in the video description below. Just go ahead, click that and you will get 10% discount. All right. So what you want to do is after you’ve bought Divi you get an account with your username and password, so you’d come over here and then you log.

Next you want to download the theme? So we are going with the Divi theme right here. So I’m going to click download the theme. So this will be the latest one. So while you’re here, the next step is to grab your API key. So I’m going to come over here to my account, and then I’m going to scroll down here to API key.

So this is where your API key is. I’m just going to go ahead now and. Of course they don’t want to have it on my, screen for obvious reasons. Okay. So I’ve copied my API key. So the next step now is to go to our website. So that is this website that we were working on, where we just did a basic WordPress install.

All right. So what we’re going to do now is we are going to come over here. I’m originally. Okay. So I’m going to now come over here to appearance, click on themes. This is how you install it next. You want to click on add new.

All right. Since we downloaded it and he’s right here on our. Computer click on upload theme. So there’s two ways to do this. You can click on choose file, and then you can just navigate to the folder on your computer and install it that way. Or you can just drag and drop it. I prefer to do it this way.

I’ll just drag and drop it here and then click on install now.

Okay. So once you click on install, now you can see here, the theme has been installed successfully. So I’m going to click now on active.

All right. So my theme is activated now. And to prove that it’s working, I’m going to open this in a new tab. So here’s on site. As you can see here, we have the basic layout. It doesn’t have any styling to it. So the idea here is to go in now and start developing our website. Before we do that, remember that API key that I copied from my word from my Divi dashboard.

I copied it. Now we need to enter it on to our site. Now it’s very important that you add the API key because that API key is going to allow you to get updates from Divi so as soon as there is security features or any additional features in divvy, it will show up automatically on your WordPress dashboard.

So that’s why you need an API key. You can talk to the Divi servers so you can get all these updates easier. The second reason why you may want to add this API key is because if you add your API key, It’s easier now to get that support, the remote access support, where the technical guys can log onto your website and, able to, help you that way.

All right. So back over here now, I’m now going to go into my dashboard. In fact, we are right here. I’m going to come all the way down here to Divi, and then you want to click on the options next. You want to go to updates. So add your users. And API key. I’m going to pay you. And then when I hit save changes.

Now, other reason why you may need to add your API key is you can also roll back to the previous version. Now, sometimes when you use Divi, your updates, things may break. It doesn’t really happen often, but when things do break, because there’s a conflict somewhere along the lines with other plugins, you can always roll back to the previous version of Divi.

And this is really, really, really important. Okay. So now that we’ve added.

We now need to click on save changes. So I’m going to click here on save changes. Great. All right. So that’s it. Our Divi theme has been installed so pretty much we are ready to go to the next step, which is adding our color palette. All right guys. See you in the next video
